If high flying poses make you quake in your boots, you're not alone. Join former lawyer, YuMee Chung, for a two hour workshop that makes arm balancing more accessible to yoginis of all ages and all levels of experience. Learn strategies for leveraging your personal strengths to find safe, effective and fun ways to meet these exhilarating poses on your own terms.
Who better to learn from than a woman who assumed she lacked the core and upper body strength to attain lift off, never mind fly? This workshop represents almost two decade's worth of struggle, uncertainty, and lots and lots of falling over. Let me share the tips and tricks that allowed me to spread my wings and overcome my fear of flying.
We will cover crow/crane (and all its relations), flying pigeon, peacock feather, and heron. You will use conscious corrective movement and partner work to prepare the body in a methodical way so the poses grow naturally from the ground up. Students should come prepared to surprise themselves and to breeze past perceived limitations.
TIME: 11 am - 2 pm
LEVEL: Good for all levels, including adventurous beginners.
