Advanced teacher training program with YuMee Chung and Hali Schwartz
January 6 - 20, 2018, Koh Samui, Thailand
About the program
Body of Knowledge is a unique advanced teacher training program in embodied yoga philosophy that represents decades of dedicated practice and study distilled into two efficient weeks. Offered over fourteen days, this 100-hour curriculum will systematically communicate how to lend depth and breadth to your teaching by seamlessly weaving the timeless wisdom teachings of yoga into hatha yoga asana. We will shine a bright light on the art of communicating simply and impactfully about the richest parts of the yogic journey and share the skills and specific teaching tools that support philosophically-inspired yoga classes. Breathe new life into your teaching and return home with fresh insights and renewed confidence in both your teaching and practice.
Who is this training for?
Open to certified yoga instructors who are committed to the art and craft of teaching and feel called to live their yoga both on and off the mat. Participants can expect a deep dive into the source material of traditional yoga philosophy and Indian mythology in a way that brings it to life and makes it unforgettable. You will learn how to create masterfully sequenced classes, based not only on the gross physical anatomy of the body, but the subtle inner anatomy of the self as a whole. Knowledge is in the body because knowledge is our true nature.
Where and when will the training happen?
Join us at the stunning Vikasa Yoga Retreat Centre on the island of Koh Samui in Southern Thailand for an immersive residential yoga training, away from the usual distractions. Vikasa is near the charming and beach community of Lamai, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Sun and sea and far as the eye can see... Vikasa boasts an award winning spa, delicious vegetarian food, and has three open air yoga shalas nestled into a lush green environment. All of the rooms offered have en-suite bathrooms and amazing views. There is much to see and do on Koh Samui and so our program offers a few hours of dedicated free time each day, as well as two full days off to play and explore.
